Play Hockey In Europe!

Wanderers Australia, a fantastic sponsor of Hockey Queensland, are recruiting players for two tours to Europe in 2016 and 2017. Both tours feature state level coaches from a variety of states who will be looking after the teams on tour.

Wanderers Australia have been running successful tours for our athletes for many years.  The upcoming tours in Europe are designed to give individual players the invaluable opportunity to be a part of an international tour in a safe and fun environment:

Junior Hockey Tour
January 2017 - School Holidays
 This tour departs December 31st and will comprise of two girls teams and one boys team. The tour will head through England, Holland, Belgium and France playing high level hockey clubs along the way.  The tour includes approximately 8 games per team.

Over 18s Hockey Tour Sept/Oct 2016
This tour will see two womens teams and a mens team travel together throughout England, Holland, Belgium and France and is a great end-of-season tour. The tour will depart on September 26th for 18 days of hockey and sightseeing.
Wanderers Australia are currently looking for an additional 4 female players and 6 male players to complete the tour squad.
All teams are filled on a first come first in basis, and all levels of hockey are welcome. Players are graded into teams to suit their level. The tours are paid off via a series of installments over 2016. Past tours have seen normal club/school players tour, right through to current Queensland state players at various levels.

Tour Highlights
Tour highlights for both tours include the following:

• High level coaching with state and representative level coaches….Former coaches include Hockeyroos Coach Adam Commens and Athens Olympic gold medal winning Australian Captain Brent Livermore
• Tour fantastic cities such as London, Paris, Amsterdam and Antwerp as well as many regional towns and villages in the UK
• Tour the ANZAC battlefields of Northern France
• Attend a Premier League Soccer game live in England
• Meet great people on your tour, as well as with the clubs that we play against

All levels of hockey are welcome - players are graded to suit their level.

Domestic connections from a number of Queensland regional airports
to connect in Brisbane are available.
